March for the Fallen is a local event with global recognition of the service and sacrifice of our United States military members, along with the families, friends and battle buddies who have stood alongside.
The March was started by retired Army First Sergeant Mike Stutzke, in honor and remembrance of SPC Jeremiah Schmunk of Warden, WA. SPC Schmunk was KIA 9 JULY 2004 in Baghdad, Iraq.
Jeremiah was the only child of Gold Star Mom Shirley Schmunk and in 2006, as an outlet for her grief and strong desire to help other families experiencing the same loss, she started Time of Remembrance - an annual gathering for families of post 9/11 Fallen Heroes from the Pacific Northwest.
Now in its 17th year, Time of Remembrance continues to be a lifeline to families who have lost a loved one in service to our country. Donations from this year's March will support this important event, bringing appreciation and remembrance of all who fight for our flag, and supporting the families who have been handed one…
