Pack Weigh-In
If participating in the competitive ruck (any distance) your pack must weigh at least 35 lbs and be weighed in between 7:30-8:30am on 9/12. Please consider filling it with food which will be donated to the *Newby-ginnings food pantry after the March.
*All are welcome to bring food items to donate. Thanks! Please check Newby-ginnings for a list of current needs.
March for the Fallen Course
The Start/Finish will be at the NW corner of the Hop Mountain parking lot and the main part of the course will be at the Mead Airport, complete with 300 of our Fallen Hero banners flanking the route.
The 5k will be an out & back.
The 10k and 15.6k will make full laps around the airport property.
There will be three water stations on the airport grounds and a bathroom trailer.
** Please note the ground at the Mead Airport is an open field - uneven in places and dry. Please plan your footwear and dress accordingly.**
Important:
The Mead Airport property has an active runway. A notice has been filed with the FAA that it will be closed for our event on 9/12, however, there’s always a possibility that a small plane could need to land. While we don’t anticipate this, the course we’ve laid out stays well away from and off the runway. Participants will need to stay within the boundaries of the Fallen Hero banners and not traverse the runway at any time.
Dogs
Are welcome. 🤗
MUST be on leash and well-behaved.
There will be dog bowls at each water station, and of course, please pick up after your pet.
Other Great Stuff
Franz Bakery will be providing snacks to carb load/breakfast on when you arrive.
Opening Ceremony will start @ 8:45am
March begins @ 9:11am
BBQ starts at 10am
Live Music will be playing most of the day.
We have GREAT combined raffle items this year! They will be drawn at 5pm and you need not be present to win!! (You do have to come to our office to pick them up though). 🙃
From 10am - 10pm, everyone can enjoy all the camaraderie back at the Hop Mountain/Step to Remember/March for the Fallen combined event. Invite your friends! We'll have a climbing wall, bouncy castle, kid zone, face painting, silent auctions, Franz Grilled Cheese, Kona Ice Shave Ice, historic military vehicles, SWAT vehicles, the Sheriff's helicopter, resource providers and so much more. Combining forces means More Opportunities to Remember and More Opportunities for all the Camaraderie which is a big part of each of our events. There is no charge for entry for the parking lot festivities. Tickets for the BBQ, Beer Garden and Raffle will be available for $5 each.
We're so thankful to the Volunteers who put this all together (and then did it again when we were displaced), to the Participants who come out each year in remembrance, and to our Sponsors whose support tells us that no matter how long it's been, our Heroes are worth remembering.
We're especially grateful to the team at Guardians Protection Project and the Kelly Family at the Mead Airport for giving March for the Fallen the perfect place to land this year.
We couldn’t do it without all of you and appreciate your commitment and support, standing strong for those who raised their hand to serve.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. We look forward to seeing you at Packet Pickup on 9/10 from 4 - 7pm and then at March for the Fallen this Saturday, 9/12/2026!
